Some 2024 Corvettes Have Drone Noise

General Motors has released a Service Bulletin for select units of the C8 Corvette Stingray over an issue of an audio booming or droning noise.

Bulletin number 23-NA-205 indicates that certain 2024 Corvette Stingray 1LT units may have a condition where customer notes one or more unwanted boom or drone noises. Applying to both coupe and convertible models equipped with the standard Bose Premium 10-speaker system (RPO code UQS), this noise reportedly occurs during Active Fuel Management (AFM) operation and between 1,500 and 2,000 rpms.

It's worth noting that 2LT and 3LT trim levels of the C8 Stingray are equipped with the Bose Performance Series 14-speaker sound system (RPO code UQH).

To remedy this unwanted annoyance, certified GM technicians are to inspect affected vehicles and check to see if the wiring harness has a different polarity than the amplifier for the right front midrange speaker. To do this, techs will access the T3 radio speaker amplifier through the passenger footwell, and subsequently begin testing terminals.

Notably, it should take less than an hour to perform this fix.
