Z06 Carbon Fiber Packages Resolved
The Carbon Flash-painted, carbon fiber ground effects package (RPO code CFZ) and the visible carbon fiber ground effects package (RPO code (CFV) for the 2023 Corvette Z06 are no longer under constraint, GM Authority has learned.
GM resolved both constraints and made both packages available to order again for the 2023 Corvette Z06 by switching to a new carbon fiber supplier.
Renewed availability of the CFZ and CFV carbon fiber packages will also make two Carbon Aero packages more widely available for the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06. The Carbon Aero packages were under a three percent constraint in late August 2022, meaning that only three percent of GM's initial production plans were expected to be built as a result of supply constraints.
2023 Corvette production, including that of the heavily constrained 2023 Corvette Z06, is scheduled to end on September 1st, 2023. Start of regular production (SORP) for the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is currently slated for September 5th, 2023. The 2024 Vette is the fifth model year for the latest eighth-generation Chevy Corvette C8.
Model year 2023 was the first year during which the Chevy Corvette C8 Z06 variant appeared as part of the Corvette lineup. The Z06 will continue to be part of the Corvette series in 2024 as well, once again featuring the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. This powerplant develops a maximum of 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and revs up to an 8,600-rpm redline.
The 2024 model year introduces the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray, a hybrid pairing the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine that motivates the C8 Corvette Stingray with a single electric motor and 1.9 kWh battery system to produce a combined 655 horsepower.
The "entry-level" position among Corvette variants continues to be filled by the 2024 Corvette C8 Stingray, powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine that produces 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 and all other 2023 and 2024 Corvette variants ride on the GM Y2 platform, with production taking place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. The 2024 Corvette online configurator is scheduled to go live at Chevy's website on July 18th, 2023.
