GM Reveals 2024 E-Ray

Today, (exactly 70 years from the historic unveiling of the 1953 C1 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC), GM officially revealed the 2024 E-Ray and we got to see with our own eyes what was accidentally revealed on their visualizer! Yes, the new 2024 E-Ray will in fact have the widebody from the Z06. And yes folks, it has been confirmed the Corvette Brand will finally have its first hybrid, with all-wheel drive to boot! This is the first step to what some consider GM's move away from the internal combustion engine for the Corvette. And that move has some truly excited, but some diehard enthusiasts sad for what the next Corvette era will bring.

While not fully an EV, it's confirmed the E-Ray will continue to use the LT2 V8 from the Stingray and add electric assist motors on the front axles, effectively making it the brand's first all-wheel drive Corvette. This setup is now reported to produce 655 hp and 595 ft-lb, far above the 495hp from the Z51-equipped Stingray. And all this will come with a base price of $109,900.

A few other details:
Available late 2023
655hp combined (495 hp LT2, 160 hp front-mounted electric motor)
Single motor paired to an open diff w/ brake torque vectoring
0-60mph: 2.5s
1/4 mile: 10.5s
Approx 300lb heavier than the Z06
Standard carbon ceramic brakes
Short-range EV mode up to 45mph, 1.9kWh battery
Z06 widebody
Widest all-season tires fitted to a production car (345 rear)
1cu-ft less trunk space

As you can see from these official newly released photos and screenshots, the E-Ray does in fact have the widebody from the Z06, and blends other styling elements from the Z06 and Stingray into the E-Ray. The front fascia is subtly different, with wing-like accents streaming from the lower grille opening into the big, outside bumper intakes. At the rear, the E-Ray features a subtle lip spoiler, redesigned bumper vents, and a mesh-covered rear bumper opening. You'll also notice split quad exhaust pipes, carried over from the Stingray. A tastefully located E-Ray badge is on the lower rear quarter panel.

It's also confirmed that the 2024 E-Ray will have its own Performance Package, known as ZER. When checked your E-Ray will come with Carbon Fiber wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, underbody strakes for aero efficiency, and possibly Carbon Ceramic brakes and the high wing from the Z07.

The interior only has minor changes, notably a button subtly located below where your elbow would be, which would be for a ReGen on Demand system that uses the electric motors to slow down the car and charge the batteries when the driver lifts off the accelerator. A second button is also unique to the E-Ray and would allow for the driver to control turning off the motor, cleverly called stealth mode. There is also the ability for the driver to turn off the stop/start function.
