2023 Z06 - More Than A Fender Bender

A 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 was involved in a crash in Bloomfield, Michigan on Friday evening, the first such incident on record, according to Corvette Blogger. The car involved was not a customer vehicle, but rather a Z06 owned by Chevy itself.

The Corvette was hit from the side by the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta turning left from the opposite lane while traveling on W Maple Road, according to a police report obtained by Road & Track. No injuries have been reported.

From what we can tell from the lone photo of the incident published by Instagram user zr1_m7, the Z06 suffered significant damage to its rear left wheel area, enough to dislodge the wheel from its normal positioning, leaving the car undrivable. It was towed from the scene, according to police.

A Chevrolet spokesperson confirmed to Road & Track the Z06 was being driven by an employee at the time of the incident, but did not share any additional details.
