Humorous Yet True

Ok - so it's a joke. But is it? While I imagine each of us tries to take care of ourselves, I for one will admit that I have spent and equal or greater amount time, energy and money on my Corvette(s) as I have on myself for health. Luckily, both my Corvette(s) and my health have been in tip-top condition. And when I make this comparison, I'm actually thinking back 40 years. When you're in your early 20's, we all assume we're invincible and this body of ours is rough and tough. Had I started a program where I paid myself $10/hour for each hour I've spent working on and under my Corvette(s) - my nest egg would be quite handsome by now. But back then, that $10 probably went into the latest and greatest carb, or mufflers, or a new clutch, etc. I can tell you that my '69 remains in excellent health, however does show its age in a few areas - as do I.
Speaking of health, for me - Covid has changed me for the better. I'm certainly more conservative with paper towels for example. I can get the same job done with one, instead of the 3 sheets I used before.
And one thing that really stands out in my mind - the phrase "Stay Well". Up until Covid I would toss that phrase out just as alternative to good-bye or so long. But now this phrase has a much more profound meaning, and I am very sincere when saying this. Maybe it's just me - but the focus on staying well and taking care of yourself has risen to a whole new level in our household.
That's the story for this week, on the 1 year anniversary of Covid-19 turning our world upside down.
So to all NMCA members, and the others who visit this website - please Stay Well.
