Canadian Police Get Serious

The new 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 is the sort of sports car that everyone wants to get their hands on. Now, it looks like the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are among the first to modify and enjoy Chevy's mid-engine masterpiece, as evidenced in a recent social media post.

The OPP Highway Safety Division Twitter feed recently posted a brief 10-second video showing a sports car shrouded in black and flanked by police vehicles with their emergency lights activated. The post does not disclose what's under the sheets, but does tease that a full reveal is coming at the upcoming Canadian International Auto Show, also known as the Toronto Auto Show.

The image shows a Corvette Z06 parked in a garage with traditional black and white body panels, as well as the word "Police" on the fenders and under the taillights. "OPP" is proudly displayed in gold on the white door. The wheels are finished in black, while the brake calipers are finished in red. The subtle ducktail spoiler is attached in the rear.

It's unclear at this point if this custom police-themed C8 Corvette Z06 will join the OPP fleet to chase down some suspects, or if it's simply a show car intended for promotional purposes. It should be noted, though, that the sports car is running a license plate.
