NMCA Garners Gold and Silver
No, not at the Olympics, at the Route 66 Casino Car Show on August 23 and 24, 2008. Members Steve and Cindy Hopkins, Lori and Larry Jordan, Dan and Peggy Pearson, Dan Bond, Jack Stephens, Rich Sherman, Michael Rothman, Chuck Tipton and Marty Zimberoff displayed twelve Corvettes and one fancy yellow Mustang to win numerous award plaques and some cash money! The weather cooperated except for a little rain Saturday night and a good time was had by all. This is one of the bigger car shows of the season with over 200 vehicles on display and hundreds of car nuts to share stories with. The only tragedy of the weekend is that on Saturday during vehicle prep, Dan Pearson broke a nail, but he recovered by Sunday morning. If you have never participated in a car show I highly recommend it as a great way to meet your fellow members, show off your Vette, trade cleaning and maintenance tips and chatting with fellow car nuts.
