NMCA Visits JR Auto Museum

If you were there, you know what a good time we all had. If you weren't you missed out on a really great caravan, museum and lunch event. 19 Corvettes gathered at the Lowe's parking lot at Paseo & I-25. We headed out caravan style to Hwy 550 & 528 for a private tour conducted by Carl Andresen at the J&R Vintage Car Museum. They have over 65 vintage cars, trucks, motorcycles & race cars on display. All of them are in prime condition; several have even participated in the "Great Race" which crosses the U.S. in various directions to destinations from Canada to Mexico and Boston to California.

There is also a book store where you can purchase books on all car/truck/motorcycle makes, Rt. 66 info, & various types of memorabilia, as well as Corvette shaped cookies of all things. They graciously invited the Club back "any time we wished."

Then we all headed for the Coronado Cantina restaurant where we were served wonderful Mexican cuisine in a private upstairs room. There were 28 of us for lunch & we were graciously taken care of by Chantell & Julie; the service couldn't have been better. We even had a surprise birthday cake for President Hugh Monroy who will turn 65 this next week. Congratulations Hugh!

So put together perfect weather, terrific vintage vehicles, great folks & wonderful food & you have another fun Corvette event with NMCA. Thank you to all who came out to participate in this event!
