New Tach Times Procedures

NMCA members: Please note a few changes that will take effect immediately concerning the monthly newsletter distribution process. Following discussions at the February 6, 2007 NMCA Council meeting, Board members elected a new course of action in order to reduce club expenses associated with the monthly newsletter. Hard costs involved to print and mail our monthly newsletter are overwhelming. Beginning immediately, all members with active e-mail addresses will receive a monthly Tach Times via e-mail. This newsletter will be scaled down in file size and will be in a text-only format. Information will include event details, club directives and any news which may be time sensitive. This e-mail message is expected to contain links to expanded stories and details located on the club web site, and may also contain a small file size pdf attachment if circumstances warrant.

What you need to know:
The new e-mail version of Tach Times is expected to arrive monthly on the Monday or Tuesday prior to the NMCA general meeting. For example, you should anticipate your first message to arrive February 13th, as our next general meeting will happen on Friday February 16th. (7 pm, CASA Chevrolet on Lomas NE)

At the club web site in the newsletter section you will have access to the Council meeting minutes and the General meeting minutes each month. These will be posted as soon as possible following each meeting. Expanded details about events, plus stories of interest and event recaps will continue to be posted to the web site.

All members are encouraged to submit photos and details of Corvette and NMCA club events they attend for possible posting on the web site. Send your information to info@nmcorvette.org.

Technically speaking:
We will limit graphics or photos in the e-mail newsletter. To avoid having messages from NMCA diverted from your in-box, please make sure you have info@nmcorvette.org in your address book.

Hardships:
If you know of a club member unable to accept a monthly e-mail newsletter due to computer issues, health issues, etc, please contact NMCA at info@nmcorvette.org and submit the member's name and reason why they cannot accept a monthly e-mail. For members deemed to have a true hardship, NMCA will mail a monthly newsletter to them. This hard copy will be a carbon copy of the newsletter you receive via e-mail.

The NMCA executive council feels this new approach will satisfy both the need to deliver important club information to the members in a timely, user-friendly fashion, plus cut annual expenses so that the club may expand in other areas. This new direction is subject to change over the coming few months as we strive to make positive adjustments. Member comments are encouraged and welcomed at info@nmcorvette.org. To satisfy NCCC requirements, a hard copy of each Tach Times plus meeting minutes will be printed and archived by the NMCA CIA, just as it has been done for years.

If for any reason you wish to be removed from further e-mail notices and newsletters, please send your request to info@nmcorvette.org and we will do our best to honor your wishes. If you have an alternate e-mail address where you would prefer these monthly messages be delivered, please send your request with your name, old address and new e-mail address to info@nmcorvette.org.
